Budapest Architect: Beautiful doors on the picture

Topics: Introduction *  The 3 Graces * Beautiful doors on the picture

Introduction

On this page a selection of photographs taken by Julius of beautiful or gorgeous doors in Budapest. The most of them have been made in the first 20 years of last century, often in conjunction with Art Nouveu decorations on the facade. It is only a first selection another page is under construction ....

To learn more about the locations of the doors or seeing other striking beautiful doors: Julius is able to organise a very interesting private tour about this subject. Use the mailform to get more information or if you want a private tour!

The 3 Graces

During walks by Julius in Budapest, he discovers the most surprising things. This is such an example, provisionally called "The three Graces" because Julius now has the knowledge of 3 different copies of this door. Virtually identical, they must have been designed by the same craftsman and / or artistic workshop. The doors were put on the picture in 2010 in two different districts of Budapest. The pictures are from left to right: VIII. ÜllÅ‘i út 14, and at the backside of the same building, but this door has the address VIII. Baross utca 11. The third specimen was found at the XIV. Dózsa György út 29. At the V. Falk Miksa utca 18-20 there is a door which is without doubt of the same designer. For 99% sure is that the architect of all buildings is the same: Gyula Fodor.
