Introduction

In this, on August 15, 2013, introduced series on the website "Budapest Architect" buildings be shown which between 1893 and 1918 in, of course, Budapest were built. For this purpose, photographic images be used which have been made from 2010. However, where possible more recent pictures (from 2013) be shown. The aim of this series is that gradually a thorough overview will come of (in general) architecturally seen important buildings in Budapest.

As of July 10, 2014, from 41 buildings are photographic impressions available. 10 new pages are under preparation and existing pages will get an update if this is necessary. As information becomes available such as historic photographs or drawings, these will be added.

In the near future, the pages shall be linked to a search page, so you can search for example on a street or architect. Through the thumbnails below, you're able to visit the underlying pages for a photographic impression of the conscious building.

Explanatory notes to the photographic impressions

The 2013 and 2014 photographs are almost all made with a Nikon Coolpix P510/P520, with a 16/18 mega-pixels resolution and a zoom of 42. The photos are almost all displayed with a standard length of 700 pixels, the height can vary, but as much as possible, a standard height of 525 pixels was used. Although not directly required for display on the Internet, the shown images have a DPI of 300 per cm. Where necessary, the photos were edited and got e.g. color adjustments or were cropped to achieve the best possible result. Due to the often narrow streets in Budapest it was currently not possible to get the facades of several buildings completely and right in the picture.

It are only impressions of a building and the applied ornamentation, any pretence about the quality of the pictures is not there. Various impressions namely were, forced, made quickly, because it was by change possible to view a building at the inside. Not all residents of an apartment building appreciate it when photographs are made in their building or that a stranger even will get access.
